We’re Here To Help
For nearly 25 years, Aura Engineering has been providing our clients customized engineering solutions with a focus on specific project needs, efficiency, and most importantly, safety. As we all make our way through the current COVID-19 crisis, Aura will continue to make the safety of our clients, partners, vendors, and employees our number one priority.
To help ensure the safety and health of our team, vendors, and clients, we have issued the below COVID-19 Action Plan. Please reach out to Tara Lawrence-Johnson if you have any questions about our action plan.
While we have put several safeguards, such as a work from home policy, in place recently to protect our staff, clients, and vendors, please rest assured that we are still here to provide you with the high level of service you have come to expect from Aura. During times like these, keeping things running as normally and as smoothly as possible is of paramount importance and we are here to help you do just that. Please download our Suite of Services below in case there may be anything else we can do to help you with during this stressful time.
We sincerely value you and your business. Please reach out to us if there is anything we can do to make this time a little more “normal” for you. We are here and ready to help.
Thank you,
Gary Lawrence, PE | President

AURA ENGINEERING, LLC COVID-19 ACTION PLAN
Essential Business Designation:
Under the Federal Department of Homeland Security, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has issued guidance to identify the essential, critical infrastructure of the United States under COVID-19 governmental stay-at-home orders. CISA has designated 16 sectors as essential, critical infrastructure. Aura Engineering, LLC provides engineering design, programming services, equipment, United States Coast Guard (USCG) certifying entity services, and maintenance services to two sectors deemed essential by CISA—the Chemical and Energy Sectors. Because of our inclusion as an integral business in these sectors, Aura Engineering, LLC is an Essential Business under COVID-19 restrictions.
For more information on CISA’s essential, critical infrastructure designations, please visit their website: cisa.gov
Work from Home:
Although Aura Engineering, LLC is an essential business under COVID-19 restrictions, all Aura employees and direct subcontractors employed through SWDS have the capability and opportunity to work from home during this time.
We strongly encourage anyone who is in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) higher risk category to use this opportunity. The higher risk category per the CDC includes but is not limited to:
- Older adults
- People who have serious chronic medical conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and lung disease
For further information on higher risk status, please go to: cdc.gov
We further encourage all employees who live in areas where stay-at-home orders have been issued to work from home as possible. These counties currently include Brazoria County, where our offices are located, and all adjacent counties including Fort Bend County, Galveston County, and Harris County.
For more information about local county travel restrictions and stay-at-home orders, please visit the following:
Coming into the Office:
Aura Engineering, LLC is an Essential Business under COVID-19 restrictions. As such we will not shutter our offices. Although our office will remain accessible, we do encourage employees to use our remote capabilities to work from home as much as possible. If you need to work from the office, please contact Tara Lawrence-Johnson for an Essential Business Designation Travel Form and keep this form with you at all times while in transit to and from the office.
For those with a critical need to come into the office, please follow the below measures to help keep yourself and your coworkers healthy:
- If you are sick, STAY HOME
- Before coming into the office, please take your temperature and stay home if it is elevated
- Observe social distancing practices while in the office, stay at least six feet away from others
- Observe CDC recommended hygiene procedures such as washing hands for at least 20 seconds, not touching your face, and covering your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing
- Use provided Lysol/Clorox wipes to wipe down work surfaces as needed and before leaving the office
- Do not schedule any face-to-face meetings with clients or vendors
- Limit formal or informal meetings of coworkers to less than four people
- To the greatest extent possible, utilize Skype, 8X8, and other technology for communication
Working at Client Sites:
As our clients provide critical infrastructure for the country, Aura employees may be called on to go to a client site to render service. If a client calls for an onsite visit that is not critical, first attempt to reschedule the visit. If this is not possible, please do the following:
- Notify Tara Lawrence-Johnson of the upcoming site visit and provide her with your contact’s name and contact information so she may gather information about the site’s COVID-19 Action Plan.
- Always keep a copy of Aura Engineering LLC’s Essential Business Designation Travel Form with you while rendering essential service. Tara Lawrence-Johnson will provide you with the necessary form.
If you have any questions regarding Aura Engineering, LLC’s COVID-19 Action Plan, please contact Tara Lawrence-Johnson / tara.lawrence@aura-engineering.com / 281-258-4229
