The facility had an old truck rack in San Antonio, TX that caught fire and was completely destroyed. Aura was hired to complete the turnkey project from design through construction and startup.

Our goals were to furnish all engineering, materials, construction, commissioning, and regulatory interface services necessary to construct the new tank truck loading area.  The facilities consisted of four (4) islands with loading arms, an automated custody transfer metering system, and a “Scully” type grounding and overfill system for each truck loading spot.  The loading area was covered by a steel canopy that is protected by a deluge system. A 10’ x 20’ control building was located adjacent to the loading area that included a restroom and furnished office area for an operator and truck driver access for input to the automated loading system.

Engineering also included an evaluation of the flare system to ensure compliance with current EPA pressure drop requirements.  During this evaluation, we found that the existing vapor control system was not compliant; we then provided a complete design for the header and flare that would bring the facility into compliance.
